Elaine Tipping graduated from Lawrence University with a major in East Asian Studies and a minor in Japanese, got married, and moved to Japan. She then started classes with Kodansha Famous Schools in Japan, which was the real stepping stone on her path to becoming a real starving artist. Back in 2005, she started Dubious Company, a webcomic, with her friend Ben Hsu, though her projects have grown over the last year or so. Her current projects include: Dubious Company and Licensed Heroes with Ben Hsu, Tales of a Gaijin and a Peter Pan manga adaptation.
Currently, she lives in Nishio city, Japan with her husband, Brad, and two kitties, Tycho and Ty Lee.
